Service Evaluation Studies: Purpose of the Route 10A, 10B, and 10E Evaluation (en Español)

The purpose of this evaluation is to identify the strategic needs for program and facilities; review capacity, productivity, reliability, and quality of service indicators; and recommend changes that will improve service for Metrobus Routes 10A and 10E (the Hunting Point-Pentagon Line) and Route 10B (the Hunting Point-Ballston Line. In cooperation with the City of Alexandria and Arlington County, WMATA is reviewing this line to improve service efficiency and coverage. This involved examining overall performance with the aim of improving service reliability, frequency, crowding, travel time, bus stop amenities, and customer communications.

Study Process

The Metrobus Service Evaluation Study for Routes 10A, 10B, and 10E has three main components:

  1. Reviewing current transit operations and traffic conditions;
  2. Reaching out to stakeholders, transit riders, and members of the public;
  3. Developing recommendations and an implementation strategy.

The study team is now analyzing the input it has received from rider survey respondents and public meeting participants, and preparing a report that incorporates the results of both.
