Service Evaluation Studies: Purpose of the U-V Lines Evaluation (en español)

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in cooperation with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), is currently working on an evaluation of the U-V Lines.

The purpose of this evaluation is to review capacity, productivity, reliability, and quality of service indicators; identify the strategic need for customer facilities, and recommend changes that will improve service for the Metorbus lines:

  • Minnesota Avenue – Anacostia — U2
  • Sheriff Road – River Terrace — U4
  • Mayfair – Marshall Heights — U5,U6
  • Capitol Heights – Benning Heights — U8
  • Minnesota Avenue – M Street — V7,V8,V9

In cooperation with DDOT, WMATA is reviewing these lines to improve service efficiency and coverage. This involves examining overall performance with the aim of improving service reliability, frequency, crowding, travel time, bus stop amenities, and customer communications.

Study Process

The Metrobus Service Evaluation Study for the U-V Lines has three main components:

  1. Reviewing current transit operations and traffic conditions;
  2. Reaching out to stakeholders, transit riders, and members of the public;
  3. Developing recommendations and an implementation strategy.

In cooperation with DDOT, WMATA is reviewing these lines to improve service efficiency and coverage. This involves examining overall performance with the aim of improving service reliability, frequency, crowding, travel time, bus stop amenities, and customer communications.

Public Meetings

Metro and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be holding a pair of public meetings to discuss issues with the Metrobus U-V Lines (Routes U2-4-5-6-8 and V7-8-9).  All members of the public are welcome, and no advance registration is required.
